Where to stay in Henley-on-Thames
Two of Henley's best-known hotels are also two of its oldest buildings: a coaching inn by the bridge and the town's former brewery. Both are a short walk from the river and the station.
01 · Hart Street
The Relais Henley
Henley's old coaching inn, dating from 1632, on the corner of Hart Street and Thameside. It is the first building you see as you cross the bridge into town. Long known as the Red Lion, it was renamed after new owners bought it in 2020 and gave it a £3 million refurbishment, and its Clipper Restaurant looks out over the bridge.

02 · New Street
Hotel du Vin Henley
A boutique hotel in the old Brakspear brewery, which made beer in Henley from the early 18th century until 2002. Its 43 rooms and suites are each named after a wine region, and Bistro du Vin serves British and French cooking from breakfast to dinner, backed by a cellar of more than 600 wines.
